Welcome to the Profession

Taking the next step from student to registered practitioner is a significant achievement. Join the iO for Welcome to the Profession on Saturday 21 November 2026 at Queen Mary University, London, for a day of celebration, practical learning and connection with the wider osteopathic community.
Designed for new graduates preparing to enter practice, the event will explore the opportunities and challenges of starting your career. From building a patient list and managing appointments confidently to finding professional support and exploring different career pathways, the event will offer practical insights to help you take your first steps into practice.
Highlights include an opening keynote from Dr Mandy Banton on Reconceptualising Osteopathic Palpation, an interactive career Q&A panel, and practical sessions on ethical patient retention, treatment flow and time confidence. You’ll also have the opportunity to share your views on the support new graduates need and learn more about the iO’s New Graduate Programme, a separate 12-month online learning and support programme running from January to December 2027.

Open to all newly qualified graduates, places are limited to ensure an engaging and participative experience.
