Lay member of the iO Council


We are looking for a lay professional to join the iO Council, who has an interest in and a drive to contribute to the development of osteopathy in the UK, and in particular someone with experience of the broad health market, for example in policy or educational development.

The Institute is the lead body for osteopaths in the UK, representing the profession with key stakeholders such as the statutory regulator (the General Osteopathic Council), the National Health Service across the home nations, and public bodies such as Public Health England and Health Education England.

We work closely with education providers, the research centre (the National Council for Osteopathic Research), and communities of practice to develop recognition of the profession as part of the delivery of health services and in the interest of furthering patient care. Osteopaths today care for over a million patients every year; we are determined to make osteopathy accessible to everyone who needs such care.
