The updated Osteopathic Practice Standards (OPS) are now in effect, as of 1 September 2019, replacing the Osteopathic Practice Standards (2012). The OPS have been brought up to date and edited by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) to make them clearer, more accessible and easier to engage with as a framework to support practice. The iO was a part of a consultation Stakeholder Reference Group, the National Council for Osteopathic Research and the Osteopathic Alliance, that helped GOsC update the Standards, along with extensive engagement with osteopaths and patients.
GOsC has created a pocket guide setting out the four themes of OPS and all 29 Standards, which will be posted out to all osteopaths in the coming weeks. Visit standards.osteopathy.org.uk for full details.
