To help you develop your skills, the iO is offering practical, scenario based CPD workshops which explore how communication and consent can be integrated meaningfully into everyday practice, not just to meet regulatory expectations, but to enhance clinical outcomes. Explore how communication and consent can be integrated meaningfully into everyday practice, not just to meet regulatory expectations, but to enhance clinical outcomes.
Breakdown in communications and failure to obtain adequate consent are common reasons for complaints against osteopaths. By taking part in this workshop, you will strengthen your ability to meet the Communications and Consent theme component of the Osteopathic Practice Standards (OPS), which is a mandatory requirement for your ongoing professional registration.

Join this collaborative learning environment, which offers space to test your professional judgement, reflect on your own practice, and apply new insights to everyday consultations. We will explore real-life scenarios where misunderstandings can occur, drawing on our extensive experience supporting osteopaths.
A safe reflective space to share and learn
You will be introduced to the concepts and research supporting the process of shared decision-making and the impact that it can have on clinical outcomes in your everyday practice. Our workshop will provide you with a safe, reflective space to share your own experiences and learn alongside fellow colleagues.
You will also take away valuable resources to help manage expectations of osteopathic treatment and support communication with your patients. Find out more here.
