Following the publication of the new NHS 10-year health plan for England, we are greatly encouraged to see the focus on bringing access to health back into the heart of communities through a collaborative service approach that prioritises people-centred, health prevention.

As allied health professionals, osteopaths are well-established as community-based primary care providers focused on a whole-person approach to improve and optimise health.

We look forward to being part of the local community’s solution to bring about a ‘Neighbourhood Service’ that will ease access to the multiple services that can make a real and significant impact in improving the health of the people in our communities.

The iO will now take the requisite time to review the plan in detail with our community, to consider how osteopaths may further contribute to the support of the health of their communities.
