Claire Piper named first-ever iO Accredited Mentor

The iO has recognised Claire Piper as the first-ever iO Accredited Mentor, acknowledging her work and commitment to mentoring osteopaths.

Claire has been mentoring osteopaths since 2017 and is one of the most active mentors on the iO’s Mentoring scheme. Not only has she successfully mentored many osteopaths, but she has also initiated the development of a mentor group where mentors can support each other in their mentoring duties.

Glynis Fox, iO President, said of Claire’s commitment and support of colleagues:

“Mentoring is a hugely important aspect of a professional journey. We all remember those colleagues who supported us at crucial moments or to develop specialisms, and the impact they had. Claire has done an amazing job as a mentor, she has shared her knowledge and experience to support others, but she has also identified that mentors themselves need a safe space to connect and communicate to continue to give effective support. She is well deserving of being recognised as an iO Accredited Mentor. We hope her example will inspire others in the profession to engage and support their colleagues and communities”.

Claire, who also leads the Kent and East Sussex Osteopathic Society, received her accreditation certification at the recent South East Roadshow.  Claire said:

“I am very honoured to have received this award. It is great to receive this recognition of the work I have done. Mentoring is a valuable and enjoyable part of my osteopathic practice and I receive as much from it as I give back.”
