Help raise awareness of Bone and Joint Week
Bone and Joint Week will be taking place from 12-20 October this year.
As members of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA) the iO is delighted to be supporting Bone and Joint Week. It’s a great chance for osteopaths to demonstrate their commitment to supporting MSK health.
The theme for this year is ‘Let’s take action on #MSKEquality‘. For some people in the UK there are still unfair and avoidable inequalities in their musculoskeletal health and in their access to and experiences of health services with poorer MSK health affecting more women than men and those on a lower income. It also affects older people and disproportionately certain ethnic groups.
Sue Brown, CEO of ARMA said: ‘We’ve chosen to highlight equalities during Bone and Joint Week this year because it is critically important. Poor MSK health contributes to and exacerbates health inequalities. MSK is fundamental to our ability to work, socialise, move, eat a good diet – in fact, all the things that enable us to stay healthy. Please join us during Bone and Joint Week to celebrate what good MSK health can achieve and to call for a greater focus on MSK health equalities.’
You can help to promote this endeavour by showcasing your efforts and sharing them on social media with the hashtags #BoneJointWeek and #MSKEquality.
