The cover complies with the statutory requirements imposed by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and protects an osteopath for claims liable for damages, legal fees and other related costs. The iO package, tailored to osteopaths, has additional extensions that are useful and go beyond the statutory requirements. Fees for UK osteopaths (£10 million cover): £298 per annum or £24.83 per month by direct debit (correct at time of publication – August 2019).

iO Entity cover
If an osteopath owns a practice where other practitioners work under their corporate identity, they may attract additional risk, than that of a sole practitioner. The iO Professional Liability Insurance policy can be extended to include contingent risks arising from your business, where you have other therapists working in your clinic. (NB: iO Entity Cover is an optional extension that needs to be agreed by request)
Working from home
Despite having general household insurance in place, it can often be a challenge to obtain appropriate and adequate cover for the business elements of your home-based clinic under a standard household policy. Most standard household policies automatically exclude any commercial activity at the insured premises. By not having declared your activities, you run the risk of invalidating your household insurance.
A policy specifically designed to provide buildings, contents, business interruption and liability cover for the modern-day osteopathic clinic. Your policy will be comprehensive and tailored to meet your needs.
