On 19th July 2018, the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) announced that Tim Walker, Chief Executive and Registrar, will be stepping down from his post from February 2019. (Read the GOsC statement here.)
Under Tim’s leadership of GOsC, the organisation has demonstrated a positive and open approach to working collaboratively with the Institute of Osteopathy and other stakeholders on development initiatives that support the profession and benefit patient care. We trust that Tim’s successor will continue and build on this approach, and look forward to working with the new registrar to this end.
We will be actively engaging with the new registrar as soon as possible on their appointment, to ensure their full appreciation of the current landscape of the osteopathic profession and the views of our members. Our priority will be to ensure that the voice of the profession continues to be considered on regulatory matters, and we will continue to lobby on issues of importance to iO members and all practising osteopaths.
We look forward to working with Tim during the remainder of his tenure and transition to his successor.
