Updates from the AGM and Council Elections
Published 28 November 2025
This year’s Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 21 November, immediately after the first day of Convention. Members turned out in strong numbers to hear CEO Alison Robinson Canham and President Daniel Collis reflect on a year of steady growth and to welcome our newly elected Council Members.
Their joint review traced the organisation’s progress across key initiatives while offering a clear-eyed look at the road ahead, one paved with both responsibility and opportunity.
A highlight of the meeting was the confirmation of Elliott Reid as our new Vice President. Gabrielle Anderson was elected to Council for the first time, Fabio Basille was re-elected to take the second seat on the Council. Their appointments brings fresh momentum to the leadership team, reinforcing both continuity and renewal.

President Daniel Collis captured the spirit of the moment by saying:
“It was great to have one of our largest in-person attendances at our 2025 AGM where we saw the ascension of Elliott Reid to the Vice-Presidency, and the election of Gabrielle Anderson and re-election of Fabio Basille to council. Leadership is a relay not a static solo event, and so it brings me great comfort and pride to have this high calibre team coming into leadership positions in our wonderful profession.”
We invite members to join us in congratulating Elliott Reid, Gabrielle Anderson, and Fabio Basile on their appointments.

HONORARY FELLOWSHIPS AWARDED
In addition to the Council appointments, this year the President gave Honorary Fellowships to the following members of staff and Committee Chair. These awards, conferred by the President, recognised their dedication, professional contribution and deep commitment to our organisational mission and the profession as a whole. Their achievements reflect the high standards and values that underpin our community, and the Fellowships stand as a testament to their impact.
