A CLINIC OWNER AND SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCER
I always knew that I wanted a career where I could help people feel better – and from a young age I enjoyed studying sciences.
After doing work experience in medicine, I soon realised that I would usually only see patients when they were unwell, and therefore did not get the opportunity to see the progress they made, which was unrewarding. Osteopathy allows you to help people get better and see results.
I have always been fascinated by the physiology of the human body which is what led me to osteopathy.
MY CAREER PATH
Two years after qualifying and finding my feet in the industry, I bought an existing clinic in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Over the last 10 years, I have managed to grow the practice from two osteopaths to seven osteopaths and three sports massage therapists and a private GP. We also have counselling, a functional medicine practitioner and a private GP to help provide patients with all-around care. I also expanded into central London, taking on a clinic in Cavendish Square – where there are an additional two sports massage therapists and osteopaths.
“My ADVICE TO THOSE WANTING TO STUDY OSTEOPATHY – You won’t regret it! It is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding careers you could enter into and enables you to watch someone become free of pain in front of your very eyes.
WHO I WORK WITH
I work with a range of patients from stay-at-home parents and teenagers to world-famous popstars, catwalk models and elite athletes. I have been fortunate enough to treat many high-profile celebrity patients – including the likes of Rita Ora, Professor Green, Paloma Faith, Bradley Simmonds, and Alice Living – whose genuine endorsements have really helped to boost my profile as a trusted osteopath.
No matter the patient’s background, everyone comes in to see me with the same aim; to be able to live their life to the full, free of any pain and injury.
HARNESSING THE POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA
I have always tried to harness the power of social media; it can be an incredible tool to introduce people to osteopathy that might have otherwise not considered it. I also try to spread the word of osteopathy in the media whenever possible – as a result, I have been interviewed by BBC Radio, Women’s Health, The Telegraph, and Hello! Magazine to name just a few. It is my personal mission to alert people to the incredible benefits of osteopathy the world over, and ensure they understand how much impact osteopaths can have on supporting, the already strong, human body.
THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING AN OSTEOPATH IS...
Being able to constantly learn and evolve your techniques and treatment style and educating people about their bodies and their lifestyle to help them create better habits and understand the benefits of preventative care.
